Taking The Helicopter to Franconia, PA
Brad and another JAARS pilot, Matthew, flew the Bell helicopter today up to Franconia, PA. The trip was about four and a half hours of flying, but they had to stop a couple of times for fuel. The Bell cannot fly all that far on one tank of gas. This has it's advantages, as Brad is usually ready for a break after a couple of hours anyway!
Our last airport stop was at Heritage Field near Franconia. There's a nuclear power plant with two giant cooling towers right by the field! After landing there and getting some more fuel, Brad and Matthew took the helicopter to some friends of JAARS's house and landed in their front yard. It will stay there overnight until we take it out tomorrow for events most of the day.
There's a wonderful family here in Franconia that is hosting our family for the time where here. It's so great to get to know people that love God and want to support what He is doing through JAARS!
Cambria is spending the night with some sweet friends in Richmond tonight and will finish the drive up to Pennsylvania tomorrow.
