Franconia, PA - Day 1
Today, Brad spent most of the day preparing for the weekend's events. The preparations mostly involve setting up the site where we give rides; this includes defining landing zones for the helicopters, picking locations for each helicopter to stop and change out passengers, roping off all around where they will operate in order keep everyone safe, and setting up the JAARS tents and signs and banners.
A local coffee shop and eatery donated lunch to our team today. It's always such an encouragement to see people offering to God by supporting what He's doing.
Cambria drove the rest of the way to Franconia from Richmond. Along the way, she and the kids drove through the middle of DC to get a quick glimpse of the sights and monuments. Because of the shutdown, traffic wasn't too bad! They also stopped at Gettysburg for a bit as they drove through.
The day ended with a banquet in Franconia with about 100 people where we got to share about how JAARS fits in to what God is doing around the world. Brad spoke at the event, sharing about how the Lord has blessed our family and led us to JAARS and on to serve overseas.
